Genetic Obesity Profiling System
Coming soon: Obesity Profiling System
The Institute of Lifestyle & Weight Management (ILWM) is proud to announce its revolutionary Personal
Obesity Profile System (POPS)™. ILWM’s proprietary Obesity Profiling System will allow
the Institute to create highly-targeted patient-specific treatment plans based on objective and subjective
data. The data comes from ILWM-designed prognostics, diagnostics and proprietary measurement and survey
instruments. POPS will look at the whole picture—every factor that has a bearing on the patient’s weight
issues—and will determine the appropriate course of action. POPS incorporates genetic makeup, clinical
factors, emotional and psychological data, and behavioral factors, and pinpoints a highly individualized
treatment regimen that is uniquely suited for each individual. ILWM has developed a genomic-based system
that will allow our healthcare professionals to determine the exact best course of treatment, including
diet and exercise, for your unique makeup and behavior. Genetics alone, however, only address a part of
the problem. POPS takes into account individuals behavioral, emotional, physiological and psychological
attributes and maps out what type of obesity they have on a continuum.
POPS does the following:
- DNA sample is taken from a member. Proprietary ILWM genetic obesity test is performed and results
sent to POPS.
- Clinical data is captured in electronic patient record. Member’s clinical data is exported to the
POPS program.
- Patient takes an ILWM proprietary psychological survey. Test is scored, validated, and reported to
POPS.
- Real-life behavioral data is captured in the ILWM Web portal. A behavioral summary is created and
reported to POPS.
- Emotional data is captured via a proprietary ILWM survey tool, and is supplemented by portal data
and sent to POPS.
Personal Obesity Profiling System (POPS) will then produce an obesity profile for the individual which
includes analysis of the member’s obesity factors and determination of a tailored and targeted course of action.
