IWLM

Prime-Time Women's Health Program

ILWM’s medically-based and supervised Prime-Time Program is designed specifically for women ages 50-70. The goal of this program is to address the special needs of the mature woman, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The Prime-Time program looks forward to the life to come rather than dwell on the past; it seeks to enhance future health and happiness rather than to restore lost youth. It is possible to be healthy and active well into the later years. The Prime-Time programs will help to ensure that your best years are ahead of you, not in the past.

The program features:

  • Age-appropriate testing
  • Physical examination by an internist
  • Women’s Wellness seminar
  • Menopause-related counseling and education
  • Safe-sweat personal training that takes into account exercise-limiting conditions
  • Prime-Time specific classes and activities
  • Exclusive Prime-Time specific group counseling sessions
  • Other age-specific classes and features

For about $150 a month (after initial diagnostic fee), this program incorporates our Seven Essential Elements™ through comprehensive evaluations, team-based consultations and support, structured learning and fitness environments plus a customized level of medical care. Most importantly, the Prime-Time Woman Program is a comprehensive and coordinated approach, and delivers everything you need to be successful in losing weight.

The Prime-Time Woman Program is Your Path to Good Health and includes:

Physician Consultation

At ILWM, our medically-based team-oriented approach makes it essential that the physician understands your motivations and limitations in order to support your long-term success. All new members are scheduled for a one-hour appointment with an internist where you will walk the physician through your medical and family history, and a thorough physical will be conducted, concluding with one-on-one consultation regarding clearance for safe exercising and the need for any further diagnostic tests. This process is repeated quarterly.

Comprehensive Health Assessment

We conduct an comprehensive series of age-appropriate diagnostic tests to establish your basic level of health, to identify any co-morbid conditions that may be affecting you and to determine limitations to your participation in our program. We start by conducting a body composition assessment, which includes your body fat percentage, Body Mass Index, basal metabolic rate, hydration status and weight. We also conduct lab tests to obtain relevant clinical information. All of this data is used by our healthcare practitioners to properly determine and manage the appropriate path of change for you.

Nutrition Consultation

Our Registered Dietitians meet with you individually and develop a personalized meal plan that meets your needs. During your first three weeks in the program, you will meet regularly with the Dietitians to fine-tune any areas of the plan that you would like to change. During these meetings, the Dietitians provide education on basic nutrition, portion control, label reading, healthy shopping, eating on the run and other relevant nutrition topics.

Exercise Consultation

The Exercise Physiologists and Personal Trainers at ILWM will work with you one-on-one to develop a custom workout routine that fits both your individual needs and lifestyle. After developing your exercise program, they will instruct you on implementing the plan in our 2,500 sq. ft. fitness center, ensuring your comfort and understanding of the equipment. A customized half-hour personal training session is held with you once a week to accelerate your progress. Exclusive Prime-Time group fitness classes are held weekly. As you continue down the path to better health, they are always available to answer questions and modify your exercise program as needed.

Cooking & Educational Classes

With a staff of dietitians, exercise physiologists, physicians, psychologists, coaches, and experts in menopausal issues, ILWM has a host of educational offerings designed specifically to meet your needs. From healthy gourmet cooking to stress management, classes are included and open to all members. We also hold Prime-Time specific group exercise classes as well as regularly scheduled aerobics and movement classes, and expert lectures on such topics as menopause, hormone-replacement therapy, proper nutrition, time management, stress management, and other self-improvement issues. Woman’s Wellness seminars are also held to further address your specific needs and challenges.

24/7 Web Portal

A recent study showed that significantly greater weight loss at follow-up was found among participants assigned to an interactive web portal versus those assigned to an information only web portal. ILWM’s proprietary web-portal tracks patients’ daily progress both during and after weight reduction program. Patients self-report weight, vitals, exercise, diet, psychological and behavioral information on a daily basis. The data is collected on an individual basis and provides a day-by-day record of the member’s real-world behavior, of individual success or failure. The members receive immediate graphical feedback on their progress, how they are tracking towards their goals, and can view lab results. ILWM collects the data in aggregate and mines it to determine best practices in treatment and to find the most effective ways to treat obesity.

Behavioral Program

Our combination of Teamwork and Technology™ allows us to monitor your health and progress on a daily basis through our web-portal. In addition, our team of behavioralists have developed an innovative behavior modification program—based on clinical trials data—to ensure that our members internalize what they learn, to help identify triggers that most often lead to overeating, as well as how to best manage stressful situations. We are there to support our members every step of the way.

Weekly Weigh-in

In order to monitor the progress of our members, ILWM encourages weekly weigh-ins. A team member will assist each member in obtaining the weight, BMI, and other body composition data. This will allow our staff to track progress and determine whether the diet plan or exercise program needs to be modified.
